One of the first organized ski patrols in the nation, the Mount Mansfield Ski Patrol was organized in 1934 through the auspices of the Mount Mansfield Ski Club. The Club formed a committee to establish a patrol to cover the mountains and hills surrounding Stowe, Vermont. Organization was founded by Charles Minot "Minnie" Dole (1899-1976) in 1938. He was also responsible for the formation of the 10th Mountain Division.
